The Great Indian Shopping Day…

Posted by: Grace In: My Life| Noteworthy| Raipur| Shopping Time

I know most of you guys must have had worst shopping experiences.. but mine is worst raise to infinity… Yeah.. it sure is that bad..

Big Bazaar had Sabse Saste 3 Din offer at almost all of its outlets across the country. As we had to buy infant stuffs for my Elder Sister, we went to shop their.

We (mom, bro & me) started from home @ about 4pm in an Auto Rickshaw. We reached VIP Square in roughly 10-15mins.. the story started after that… there was a massive traffic jam ahead of the VIP Square.. reason being the Big Sales in almost all of the Stores at the 36 City Mall and marriages…
We got out of the auto infront of J.R. Marriage Palace and then walked to the Mall which was around 1km. As we had to shop mainly for baby clothes and few of the dresses for Angie, I suggested going to Globus first… but mom hates it when Big Bazaar says to deposit baggages in the counter. So we headed to Big Bazaar first. We had to go to the kids section, so headed to first floor but the escalator was closed cos of excess crowd.. but then the security guys turned it on and I was so very much grateful to them.
We were checking out many things @ the kids section, so I told bro that I am going to collect a basket. Bro told me to get a trolley instead. Now, almost all of Raipur and many people from nearby towns were present there.. so it was quite impossible to get a trolley. I ran to the Food Mart located at the 2nd floor and begged a guy who was unloading his things in the cash counter to give the trolley to me.

Ran downstairs with the trolley and started shopping.. bought many things.. had to snatch the things as other people were about to pick them.. the regular discounted items were’nt available @ discounts this time but many other stuff were. Spotted a Panasonic 32inch LCD TV + XBOX360 combo. Was up for sale at around 50k.

As we saw many people buying DVD players (were available @ really very low prices), bro headed to the Electronics section.. was sad to find the Philips one available at its street price.. the ones up for sale were unbranded…

Then we came downstairs.. bro tried many Jackets, Coats but did’nt bought any. Had to wait in que @ the cash counter for almost 20-30 mins… bought some accessories for me and di.

As our bill exceeded 5k we were entitled to get 2 Dish TV’s for Rs. 999/- each. But as we already own one, we told them we only wanted to buy one. So we were told to pay only Rs. 799/-. Came outside and ordered a Dish TV. After arguing with them for almost 30-45 mins or so.. we were proud owners of another Dish TV. Bro will get it installed in their home @ Durg.

When we came outside of the mall, bro inquired if we could get any auto rickshaws.. but there were none available as the jam hadn’t opened as yet and the vehicles were struck for almost 4 hrs…
We started walking.. and walked till we reached VIP Square… that means roughly 2-3 kms… carrying all the shopping bags… bro was carrying all the 3 Big Bazaar bags, mom held the Dish tv set-top box and the cables, and I carried the dish and its stand. After reaching VIP square we spotted a rickshaw and hired it.. and reached home almost 30 mins after that…

All in all the worst shopping experience I ever had… also made a promise that will never go for shopping @ Big Bazaar during such kind of bizarre offers…
