Not Ur Average Girl

So What I’m Not Your Average Girl? I Don’t Meet The Standards of This World!

I can has new frame!

April25

After 2 years of using my faithful glasses, I kept them away and welcomed my new frame + fibre glasses today!

I had to wait 1 month for them because my Ophthalmologist told me to get the new ones after the exams.

Grace

I had tried the frames last month and prayed everyday that no one buys it and its still there when I eventually sort to buy it.

Was overjoyed yesterday when I went to the store and the frame was up in its place. Told the salesman to show it to me, tried it on and then ordered the fibre glasses to go with it.

The frames as mentioned in the above photo costs Rs. 650 and the glasses were worth Rs. 200. So in all Rs. 850 was pretty cheap..

Here is the latest photo of me to go with the post.

Everything seems black?? Yeah cos I got tanned in Rajnandgaon.

Orkut apps available in India

April25

Orkut applications went live in India on 16th April. And as I was in Rajnandgaon at that time, started using it from yesterday.

I am trying out only a few applications at present like Bible Verses, Music iLike and TypeRacer.

Bible Verses: This application lets you play Bible Quiz [love the ranks given :) ], Post a Prayer Request, read the Bible Verse of the Day, Browse the Bible, select My Favorite Verses & Poke! [Throw a Bible at/ Hurl a Pew at/ Fling an Offering plate at]

I liked playing the Bible Quiz. My current score is 1366.0 and am ranked a Scholar :) The prayer request section is good too..

Music iLike: Using this application you can display the photos of your favorite artists, add music and videos to your profile.

Currently am using it to show the photographs only… will add videos and music later on..

TypeRacer: This is definately my favorite application of the lot!! You race against random people and get rated the words per minute (wpm) count.

I can’t believe that my current speed is kinda poor *sob*. I currently average at 47 wpm and until 2 years back my speed was definitely 60 wpm.

This is because I am away from computer most of the time. Will surely mention that my typing speed in mobile keypad has greatly increased :p

Anyways.. this application will surely help me get back to the amazing wpm that I once sported :)

Will be trying out other applications soon..

So what all applications do you use??

Twittering on the go!

April1

twitter

Do you travel a lot?? or don’t have access to a computer most of the time?? Then this post is specially for you..
There are many tools available for tweeting from mobile. The ones I mostly use are..

  1. Twitter’s mobile site: m.twitter.com
Use your phone’s default browser, Opera Mini or Opera Mobile to post your tweets. You are only charged for your WAP/ GPRS uses. You can tweet, catch on with the tweets of people you follow, add new tweople to your following list.
Cons - You can’t delete your tweet, check on the replies, search for people.
  2. Fring: A mobile application [compatible with Symbian 8, 9.1, 9.2, Windows Mobile 5 & 6 and UIQ handsets.]
You can send your tweets directly thru’ the twitter contact in fring or gtalk twitter bot. You are charged for your GPRS/ Wi-Fi/ 3G usage.
    Download it here.
  3. Cellity Tweeter: Another mobile application. Other than tweeting you can check your timeline, public timeline, direct messages, list your friends & followers and featured people.
You are only charged for the data transfer.
Cons - Is a bit slow.
    Download it here.
  4. IM applications: Like Nimbuzz, Morange etc..
Use the gtalk twitter bot to post your tweets.

Now you might be wondering why I haven’t listed the popular ‘txt’ method. Simple, because at present BSNL West is not supported :P

On a serious note if your operator is supported by the various twitter short codes like the ones for US, Canada, India; you can simply tweet by sending an sms.

As for now follwing Indian operators are supported.

  • Idea
  • BSNL North
  • BSNL South
  • BSNL East
  • Vodafone Essar (Hutch)

If you like/dislike the post, please post a comment.
Also if there are any other ways for tweeting via mobile, do tell me.

Ohh.. and you can follow me here :D
