An aunty who studied with Sara badi mummy attends our Church. Her youngest daughter’s husband works in the Sales Tax Dept. As I had to get the Authorization letter signed by the Sales Tax Authority, mom contacted the didi.. Now we didn’t knew that jeejaji was stationed at a Check Point and was not in Raipur. So she talked with him and then told me to come to her office[she's the Manager @ Co-operative Bank here] with the letter and she will get it signed by sending it to the Tax dept.

I went there at around 11:30am and chatted for a while with didi. She asked me if I had any work to do and all.. As I was free at that moment, I told her that. She then told me it would be best for me to accompany her peon to the Sales Tax office. Jeejaji had talked with a co-worker of his [Mr. ABC] and asked him to get the job done.

We reached the office @ around 12pm and went to see Mr. ABC

Peon: Sir Namaskar.. I am Kiran Mam’s peon. This is the girl Sir talked to you about.
Mr. ABC: Whats your name?
Me: Grace, Sir
[I give the letter to him and he skims over it]
Mr. ABC: Hmm.. you are buying it for your personal use naa… [it was already mentioned in the letter]
Me: Yes Sir.. the company wants the letter for their record purposes..
Mr. ABC: ok..
Mr. ABC: You live in [XX] area?
Me: Yes Sir.
Mr. ABC: Then you have to contact Mr. DEF as he deals with the things related to your area.
Me: ok Sir.
Mr. ABC: Let me take you to him.
Mr. ABC: Hello Mr. DEF, this madam is purchasing a laptop for her personal use and would require an NOC from the dept.
Mr. DEF: Are you registered with the Dept.?
Me: No Sir..
Mr. DEF: Any dues related to your family?
Me: Absolutely No Sir…
Mr. DEF: Hmm… how can I give you a NOC letter.. it has to be prepared by the Sending Authority and not the receiving personnal..
Mr. ABC: No Sir.. I remember, we issue such kind of letters..
Mr. DEF: Take her to Sir. JKL [Senior Official] and he will tell her what to do.
[Now Mr. JKL is attending to some person, so we catch up with his PA, Mr. GHI]
Mr. ABC: This lady wants to purchase a laptop for her personal use and would require an NOC from Sir.
Mr. GHI: How can we issue such a letter? Its issued at the Check Point. We are not authorised to issue it.
[Mr. ABC talks with him and Mr. GHI agrees to take me to Mr. JKL]
Now Mr. JKL is a nice man. Talks me re’ the laptop, why am I not purchasing it from Raipur itself and all..
Mr. JKL: For what personal use you require the laptop?
Me: :O Sir, I am an Engg. student and will be going to 3rd year/5th sem this year. I will have to make presentations and all stuff.. As I stay in the Hostel @ Rajnandgaon, it won’t be feasible for me to take my computer there.. So thats why I am buying the laptop.
Mr. JKL: ok… But I can’t sign on this paper.. You need to fill the Form. 60
Me: Yes Sir
[He calls his PA Mr. GHI and tells him to prepare a covering letter and issue me the Form. 60]
[Mr. GHI types the letter, puts all the required seals and tells me what all to write in the form]
[I fill it up the form and he takes it to Mr. JKL. Mr. JKL signs the form]
Me: Thank You Sir! Thank You Sir!

Am so happy that I drive my Wave @ 50kmph :D
Reach home and tell mom, bro about it, also mailed in the info to the Dell Sales Exec.

Now… the Dell guys had told me that I’ll have to shelve like Rs. 1-2k to get it signed.. Its not an easy task and what not…
But I got it signed for free :) Thank God :D

Next: The DD will be made tomorrow afternoon.. and will courier Dell the stuff first thing on Saturday morning :D
