Mom was elected as a ‘Decon’ in the Church at the last ‘Decon Elections’ [took place in Feb. '08] along with an Uncle, he used to be the Youth Director till a few years back.
Last week the Conference’s meeting was held and our Church’s application asking about the Decon’s ordination was also put up. Our Church’s representative told that the council had agreed on Uncle’s name but not on mom’s cause of **some** technical reason.
The Council being full of **Narrow minded people** couldn’t elect a woman who has been divorced by his husband sole reason being that he is/was an Ordained Reverend..
I think this is also the reason for my elder Brother from not being appointed as a full fledged Pastor. But he ain’t complaining much cause he knows he is destined to do something else..
Well than the Uncle’s election should had been invalidated too… Considering all of his wrongdoings (being an alcoholic should count, rite!) and that her daughter was Expelled from a Seminary cos of somestuff..
These silly reasons and working of our Conference makes me sick of attending the Church services.. Mom is now thinking of withdrawing the membership, considering that at present only she and I are the members from our Family. And she puts its rightly as she needs a place at the Graveyard and also has an un-married daughter whose wedding will most probably take place at the CNI Church.
