The ill effects of using Mobile Office

Posted by: Grace In: etc etc..

Having been impressed by the good browsing speed that Airtel Mobile Office offered, I jumped in the bandwagon and bought its simcard yesterday and activated the service.

Bro had bought the same connection for him last week but was unable to make it work properly with his laptop. But I had tried out it in a couple of friends n seniors phone and loved it.

Now, I had buttered mom in getting me the connection. I had to buy it from Raipur itself but as I was not able to visit home this weekend I thought of buying the connection from here only.

The problem started when I informed bro me buying the sim. He then went on to say that now that we both have airtel MO activated, there is no need for broadband in home :(

So mom is gonna submit the application for disconnecting BSNL broadband from our home landline tomorrow. We were the early adopters of it in Raipur, am surely going to miss it :( :((

Psst: this post has been made using the MO connection from hostel. Now I’ll be connected everywhere.

Well… its pretty tedious to use, you make some changes to ur setting and bam the connection does not take place :P
anyways am averaging speeds of 35-40KBps. My phone is not EDGE enabled otherwise the speed would be of the range 150-200KBps.

Use it mainly in the hostel for the study tasks..

Its activation is free and costst Rs. 10/- per day of unlimited usage.

but isn’t it too slow… if you are using on pc or laptop, isnt broadband connection better?
even i had airtel mobile office, but that was in extreme case, when i had no net and no pc or laptop or anything. and net-o-mania was bugging me hard that i finally gave in….
and its not 10 in chennai.. 20 rs…. and that too only for airtel prepaid.. not applicable for airtel postpaid…

Actually portability was very much my consideration. Thats why I bought it.

As for the broadband, might get the EVDO one when 3G services start here.
