Just the other day I was talking with my roomie re’ the famous cold war going on between us (the 3rd yrs) and our juniors (2nd yrs). I told her, how blessed they were as they were living in this hostel, they enjoyed so much liberties that we only thought about in the previous hostel..
And the rules.. how we loved breaking them and the jrs were one step ahead of us..
Anyways.. I was going thru’ my inbox in the evening and saw the Streaming Faith Daily Devotional mail with the subject “A Moment Of Thanks” and I immediately set about reading it..
Something written in it caught my eye..
Life is hard, and every day is challenging. You may be wondering just now if you can go on. Perhaps another person is vexing you. Perhaps you’ve been maligned or criticized. You’re discouraged with unanswered prayer. Maybe you’re feeling like Elijah under the broom tree, wanting to die.
Try praying with thanksgiving. A thankful attitude is the cure for many emotional ailments. Take depression, for example. What is depression or discouragement except the total collapse of thanksgiving in our lives?
Thanksgiving is also the opposite of discontent. It’s easy for us to become disgruntled with various factors in our lives; but let’s be like one man who was thankful…
- For the clothes that fit a little too snug because it means I have enough to eat.
- For all the complaining I hear about the government because it means that I have freedom of speech.
- For the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours because it means that I am alive.
- For the teenager who is not doing dishes but is watching TV because that means he is at home and not on the streets.
- For the taxes that I pay because it means that I’m employed.
- For the lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning, and gutters that need fixing because it means I have a home.
- For weariness at the end of the day because it means I have been capable of working hard.
- For the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot because it means I am capable of walking and that I have been blessed with transportation.
Was really moved by the words, I just can’t stop thanking God for everything he’s done in my life, family and hostel. Word’s really can’t express it. Its just that.. so many things happen in the day to day life that I can’t stop myself from thanking God every morning & night, my usual praying times.
So, here’s the question. Are you thankful?

I can never get enough of this song, recently listened to it repetitively; so thought of sharing it in the blog. Its from Hillsong’s ‘06 album, Mighty to Save and has been sung by Annie Garratt.
If my heart has grown cold
There Your love will unfold
As You open my eyes to the work of Your hand
When I’m blind to my way
There Your Spirit will pray
As You open my eyes to the work of Your hand
As You open my eyes to the work of Your hand
Oceans will part nations come
At the whisper of Your call
Hope will rise glory shown
In my life Your will be done
Present suffering may pass
Lord Your mercy will last
As You open my eyes to the work of Your hand
And my heart will find praise
I’ll delight in Your way
As You open my eyes to the work of Your hand
As You open my eyes to the work of Your hand
October4
I listen through the darkness
And I know that I’m not alone
And I feel You all around me
But every time I call
All I hear is my own echo
Your silence says it all
I’m restless but I will not fight
I’ll, oh…
Let go
It’s in Your hands
It’s in Your hands
I trust You though I don’t understand
It’s in Your hands
It’s in Your hands
I’ll close my eyes and fall into plan
Plan, plan, plan, plan, plan
I trust You ‘cause it’s all in Your hands
As time slips through my fingers
I slow down and breathe you in
There’s a peace that washes over me
And I’m not afraid at all
Of things I cannot see
Nor understand
‘Cause faith is blind
And I’ll go on another night
‘Cause I know…
(It’s in Your hands)
Maybe one day
This will make sense
But until then
I’m trusting You
I’m confused
But You’ll come through
You always do
I’ve waited so long
To see my sun on
The horizon
Feel it coming on
And I’m seeing You

Few days back I along with my training partners had to give the Vocational Training Presentation on the topics on which we had underwent the training. As we had studied about EWSD-TAX & CDMA, we were to give presentation on that.
The day donned, and we were struggling to keep up with the pressure of studies as well as the presentation. Having not had the real time in preparing for the presentation, the first time we spoke it and I was ashamed of myself of having performed so poorly.
Anyway’s that was other day and today was a totally different day. Before stepping out from my seat, I prayed a very simple prayer that Lord, grant me the grace and wisdom to speak well and properly and also make me strong enough to withstand the burden of the cross questions that are put forward by the teachers as well as by the classmates.
I cannot keep thanking God for the work he did today, not only we spoke well but also were able to explain each and every thing written in the slide and some out of the way topics too..
As for the cross questioning part, we were able to answer all questions properly and our Faculty was thoroughly satisfied with the effort we gave in to it..
As the title goes.. I must confess that the last time all things happened so fast that I didn’t even had the time to pray and was utterly sorry. Am quite happy with the show we put on today and would end with the note that we got the grade ‘A’ in it
