I don’t wanna go through the motions

June 8th, 2009

Had first listened to this song on the Radio Stations K-love and Air 1 (thru’ Nokia Internet Radio App) and instantly fell in love with it. Few days after a twitter friend tweeted about listening or rather bliping it. I immediately replied asking which album held the song, so that I could download it. That friend replied stating that she had the song and would be glad to send it to me, she wanted my e-mail address though. Later I came to know that she had gifted me the entire album Something to Say via iTunes :)

Was searching for its video on Youtube Mobile App last night and saw this. Was left speechless. Sharing the video and lyrics with you all. Be Encouraged and be Blessed!

Ever since I heard this song few months back, it struck a cord with me. And after watching the video, it sure did inspire me to be what God wants me to be.. I think somewhere along the way I was getting into the “average girl” stereotype.. but thanks to the song got my priorities straightened up..

Keys to Grandma’s Almirah

May 18th, 2009

Alicia

You got the keys inside this Kingdom, lift up your head is only begun, keep holding on and you’ll see the Son… ~ Group 1 Crew (from the song, Keys to the Kingdom)

The other day mom was arranging some stuff at her almirah and this lil kiddo just walked in when mom was closing its door and locking it. She immediately went up to her grandma and spread her lil hands in anticipation that grandma is going to hand over the keys to her. And mom being.. well mom :P and a doting grandma gave her the keys and instructed me to just look what was about to happen next and make sure I took photos.

The lil kiddo.. as evident from the photo couldn’t properly reach upto the keyhole but was standing on her toes just to reach them, open and then pick/ stare at grandma’s treasures :)

Tales of the missing mug..

April 26th, 2009

13th of this month was my last sessional viva, seniors & juniors had exams that day so bus came early to pick us. Now, the breakfast came late that morning and that is why I kept my mug near the kitchen sink saying that I’ll collect it in the evening.

The evening came and I went to kitchen to get my dose of evening chai, but was surprised to not find my mug there. Now this mug is special. Its a verse mug that uncle bought when he visited Mumbai few years back.

mug

Asked the maid about it and she said that she saw the mug earlier but she didn’t knew who nicked it from the kitchen. Asked a couple of juniors about it and got the same reply. I had a bad experience of asking about stolen stuff @ hostel, so thought of letting it go..

The maid used to ask me about it everyday and I used to say I wonder who stole it.. who would want a verse mug except me and Rajni. Rajni is not one of the girls who would steal and when this incident took place she wasn’t even at hostel.
The maid would look for it at every room while she cleaned them everyday though..

One day a thought came into my mind that someone must have dropped it and cos its broken down am unable to find it.

Then mysteriously just as it was stolen, it found its way back to me. Found it at the place where I had kept it, one week later though… Now as you can see from the photo, someone used it for making curd/ drinking milk.

When I showed this to the maid, she asked me to show the backside of the mug and instantly realised seeing it at a juniors room.

So I carried out a “Who stole my mug” interrogation that evening and that very gal said, Sorry mam, I didn’t knew it was your mug! ha.. that must have been a joke. I was very much pissed off earlier but then dunno what came into me and I asked her if she needed a mug (I always have some in spare as am a chai addict). She was and so I gifted a mug to her :)

Have now started calling it as prodigal mug :P Cos it was “once lost, but now is found” :D
